Clogged Dryer Vents Could Mean Danger
Of all the chores to be completed at home, properly maintaining a home dryer may be the most important task of all. Over time, lint accumulates inside the dryer’s ventilation system causing an inefficient dryer cycle and putting the home at risk for a fire.
To decrease the likelihood of a fire, avoid using screws or bolts to join metal ducts as they can cause friction. Minimize the length of the exhaust duct and make sure the dryer duct is made of solid metallic material. Be sure to clean out the dryer vents about twice a year using a dryer vent cleaning brush. Even for top-of-the-line ventilation systems, there is no substitute for proper maintenance to keep a home safe.
